Description

Join me as I discuss how and why the T-Scan should be used in all restorative and orthodontic practices, why the Las Vegas Institute has embraced the T-Scan as a powerful tool for both education and bite refinement, and about how to use the T-Scan as a patient education/motivation tool.

Education and understanding are the keys to both patient acceptance and quality care.  The more effective we are in helping our patients to understand what is happening in their mouths and bodies, the more completely they will accept comprehensive care and pursue quality solutions.  Easily the most misunderstood and poorly taught aspect of dental care is occlusion and there are two distinct areas that must be managed – the macro-occlusion or jaw relationship and the micro-occlusion or tooth relationship.  Use of the T-Scan helps in understanding that macro-occlusion and application is simple and vastly more efficient in managing the micro-occlusion.

Of the many things that LVI is teaching, one of them is establishing a new bite scheme – and using the T-Scan is an integral part of helping to make sure the teeth are gearing correctly to ensure comfort and longevity in the restorations and system.

Learning objectives:

  • How to use visual aids in patient communication
  • Why tap tap tap grind grind grind has never worked
  • Where and when the T-Scan makes bite adjustment more predictable.
